From 18 to 25 September 2026, there will be activities throughout the Netherlands focusing on digital tech’s contribution to innovation and earning capacity as well as its potential to address major societal challenges.
During his speech at Digital Transformation Day, minister of Economic Affairs Vincent Karremans said that “the Netherlands hasn’t yet fully realised how important digital innovation is. That urgency needs to start resonating with politicians and wider society. As minister of Economic Affairs, I’m doing everything I can to make sure that happens.”
A week of inspiration and collaboration opportunities
Digital Transformation Week 2026 is a nationwide event. Businesses, educational and knowledge institutions, municipalities and community organisations will open their doors to host workshops, debates, open days, inspiring talks and real-life practice demonstrating not only the potential of digital technology, but also the challenges requiring collaborative solutions.
Frits Grotenhuis, director of Topsector ICT: “Digital transformation is no longer optional – it’s essential. It’s relevant to each and every sector, changing our approach to work, learning, innovation and security. Digital Transformation Week aims to show how we can work together to create a secure country that embraces digital innovation.”
Dagmar Lens, chairman of NLdigital: “Digital technology is all around us, from internet banking security and AI in health care to smarter teaching and public service efficiency. Digital Transformation Week sheds light on those insights.”

From an event to a movement
This year’s Digital Transformation Day at the Louwman Museum in The Hague brought together public sector organisations, knowledge institutions and businesses to focus on the topic of security. The event was a success and full of promise for the future, say the initiators.
Jeannine Peek, figurehead of Topsector ICT: “Collaboration is the driving force of the digital transformation. Combining knowledge and empirical experience helps us to develop innovations faster and ensure they deliver tangible benefits for society. Digital Transformation Week is a crucial opportunity to showcase that inspiring potential to all.”
