Cybersecurity, climate, circular economy, housing shortage, ageing, health and care: our society faces enormous challenges that call for more knowledge and breakthrough innovations. The "KIC Demand-driven Research by Consortia - S" is a call for proposals aimed at funding impact-driven, collaborative research focusing on major societal challenges. The call is specifically intended for public-private collaborative consortia of limited size that intend to grow into sustainable collaborations.

The aim is to realise economic, social, and societal impact through research that aligns with the Knowledge and Innovation Agendas (KIAs) of the Mission Driven Innovation Policy (MIB). The programme focuses on the co-design and co-creation of research projects, in which knowledge institutions and private parties work together.

Submit application

An application must be submitted by a lead applicant in collaboration with at least one other knowledge institution and one or more private parties, including companies acting as co-financiers.

A webinar on this call will be held on 26 September - more information can be found here .

A total budget of €7.5 million is available, with between €250,000 and €750,000 available for each individual project, with NWO funding covering up to 50% of the total project budget.

The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday 5 November 2024.
