Innovation WITH DITs

Innovation WITH DITs

The pillar of Innovation WITH Digital Information Technologies (DITs) is concerned with researching and finding innovative applications for the seven key digital enabling technologies for the five missions under the Mission-Driven Top Sectors and Innovation Policy (MTIB): Health & Healthcare; Agriculture, Water & Food; Security; Energy Transition and Circular Economy.

This pillar focuses on digitalisation and digital technology partnerships with the other theme-based KIAs that are linked to these missions.

Digitalisation as a catalyst

The idea is to use digitalisation and the DITs as catalysts to accelerate and amplify the efforts towards the five missions, and to improve the country’s capacity for innovation and competitive capabilities. The KIA Digitalisation identifies the interfaces and opportunities for collective programming for the five missions.

Healthcare, for example, might develop useful and safe AI for prevention, diagnostics, research and development. Agriculture, Water & Food will use AI and decentralised technology for food supply chains. Interesting themes for the Energy Transition mission include sustainable digitalisation and tokenisation of the energy system.
